Kate Middleton has been known to wear everything from Alexander McQueen to Topshop, and no matter what, if she’s spied in something that’s within reach for us non-royals to purchase, it’s almost guaranteed to fly off shelves with the quickness. Especially if that outfit is particularly affordable.
On Friday, the Duchess of Cambridge attended the 1851 Trust sailing roadshow in London in a very smart, summery ensemble that skewed quite nautical. For the event, she turned out in navy blue cropped J. Crew pants with gold buttons on the pocket and waistband, which she wore with a white Zara blazer, white shirt, and plaid heels from J.Crew. Royals may not quite be just like us, but it looks like we regular folks do share something in common with the Duchess — an appreciation for affordable, high street fare. Look, the woman can’t wear expensive ball gowns everywhere she goes, after all.
Now before you click that “open new tab” button on your browswer, stop. It looks as if you may not be able to purchase the exact pieces from Middleton’s outfit, but you can still get the look with similar items at both retailers. So while you may not be able to get your hands on Kate’s exact look, at least you can get something like it at a price you won’t feel guilty about later.
